The Quinte Branch of Ontario Ancestors/OGS needs volunteers … badly. This does not have to be a grand commitment of time or labour. Mentorship is available and “there are no tests”. Several positions exist on the Branch Council which meets once a month and in support roles like transcribing, proof-reading and maintaining the research library. “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”. [Helen Keller]
The Quinte Branch has a forty-year history of being a vibrant, dynamic conservator of local family history from birth-marriage-death records to cemetery transcriptions and as a facilitator of research into local family history. Each of us with an interest in genealogy has a responsibility to support our local genealogy society in whatever way we can. As John F. Kennedy said, “Every person can make a difference, and every person should try”.
