The Quinte Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society was officially formed in 1980 by a small group of people, who got together and were interested in Genealogy. Betty Bruce, her husband Lorne, and their son Roy, along with his wife Ruth, were all part of the founding members of the Quinte Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. As part of their dedicated efforts on behalf of family history, approximately 10,000 articles referencing births, marriages and deaths were clipped from Prince Edward County newspapers and passed on to the Quinte Branch. Lynn Heale and the late Larry McQuoid assembled these articles into a 665-page scrapbook, including an index, which is available in the Quinte Branch Marketplace as the Betty Bruce Scrapbook.
